Step 1.1: Resilience

In this session, I unpack what resilience truly means and share the definition I learned through the Trauma Resource Institute: living fully in the present moment and using our inner resources to meet life’s challenges. I invite you to reflect on how you personally understand resilience as we begin.

I also describe my “aha moment” during training, when I realized how deeply spirituality and spiritual practices support resilience. People around the world consistently shared how faith, rituals, and daily practices helped them find strength and hope in difficult times.

We then look at the basic neuroscience of stress and wellbeing ~ how the body responds to threat, how spiritual practices help calm the nervous system, and how these practices build new neural pathways that make it easier to return to a sense of grounding and calm.
